Maryland’s Inside
Scoop
Our team is part of a class called Global Bridges, a year
long course that teaches global citizenship and is designed to explore
cultural diversity in our state, nation, and global community. We work to
gain knowledge of diverse perspectives and lifestyles, while developing
strategies for communicating and relating across cultural differences. The
class is made up of twelve high school students: eleven juniors and one
senior. We aim to see the views of not only the students in our own
classroom, but also the views of those around the world.

Our team is a group of high
school students strictly working to solve this year’s 20/20 project on
education. We have split up to work on solutions, translations, research, and
web design. We are constantly communicating with our partner school via an
online forum, and we hope to learn more about each other and also brainstorm
ideas for the project. Together, with the students of Saint Mary’s Ryken, we
are committed to solving the problem of global education.
